Scary Dairy

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! after reading up on dairy I scream quite literally at dairy.

The food pyramid suggests we have 2-3 servings of dairy each day, some experts who helped create the food pyramid actually work for the dairy industry, which means the US Department of agriculture's recommendations reflect industry interests, not science or our best interests. (according to Mark Hyman MD)

I mean really think about it, we're the only species on this planet that drinks another species milk! Cow's produce milk for their calves, not us.

Cows naturally produce 16 pounds of milk each day (varies upon breed), when genetic manipulation and hormones are used they can produce an average of 50 pounds each day.

Bovine Growth Hormone (a known carcinogenic) is a hormone that is injected into cows to get them to produce more milk, causing an increased risk of breast and prostate cancer in humans up to 30-50 percent.

According to the "Nurses' Health Study" dairy can increase risk of fractures up to 50 percent. Women in America intake an average of 2 lbs of milk each day, (milk, butter, ice cream, yogurt), yet 30 million women here in America have osteoporosis.

lbs to make a lb

it takes 10 lbs of milk to make 1 lb of cheese
it takes 12 lbs of milk to make 1 lb of ice cream
and it takes a whopping 20 lbs of milk to make 1 lb of butter

I knew it took a lot of milk to produce butter, but I had no idea it was 20 lbs!

Drinking milk doesn't prevent bone loss. Because bone loss is caused by an excess amount of protein.  A study in the "Journal of Nutrition in 1981" found that doubling your protein intake doubled your calcium loss. A study done by "The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 1995" explained that dietary protein increases the production of acid in your blood, therefore making your body draw the calcium from your bones to buffer the acid.

Milk causes your body to produce more mucus, the mucus is your body's way of protecting itself from the acid in milk, otherwise it would damage your cells, tissues, and organs, but then again if it weren't for the milk there would be no call for that mucus.

Mucus isn't bad for you, it's just your body's defense against all that acidic milk. I personally don't care for that slimy feeling at the back of my throat after eating a bowl of ice cream. Or should I say frozen puss? yes milk has puss in it, it may only be a minute amount and although that's not bad for you either I just don't find it that appetizing anymore.

No, I don't have a killer drink in my fridge. I do have my health though.

Consuming Dairy Results In:

Cancer (increased risk up to 30-50 percent)
Osteoporosis (increased risk up to 50 percent)
Heart disease
Digestive problems (75 percent of the worlds population have lactose intolerance)
Sinus problems

The next time you think about buttering your bread, getting a dip of ice cream, or ordering extra cheese on your pizza, think about how it's going to affect your health.

Okay so dairy is some pretty scary stuff, but now what? Your best choice is unsweetened almond milk, as long as you don't have a nut allergy (obviously).

Take vitamin D and calcium supplements, The less dairy you consume, the better off you are.

The Microwave

The microwave is found in 90% of American homes, that's not surprising. It's convenient, fast, and easy. Wouldn't you expect a product that's in 90% of homes to be thoroughly investigated for safety? I know I sure would.

The FDA limits the amount of radiation that can leak from a microwave throughout its lifetime to 5 milliwatts per square centimeter at approximately 2 inches from the microwave. that's not too bad considering your cell phone has a specific absorption rate of 1.6 watts per kilogram (varies on handset model).

Powerwatch (a company that researches the links between electromagnetic fields and health risks) recommends microwaves be checked for leakage at least annually, since microwave emissions can change with normal use.

The microwave isn't that bad for you, to be near it anyway. What it does to your food on the other hand is a totally different story. A study done in 2003 by "The Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture" found that broccoli "zapped" in the microwave with a little water lost up to 97 percent of its beneficial antioxidants. By comparison, steamed broccoli lost 11 percent or fewer of its antioxidants. We are the only animals on earth who destroy the nutritional value of our food before eating it. All other animals eat their food in its natural, unprocessed state, but we actually go out of our way to destroy the nutrients in our food before eating it. No wonder humans are the least healthy mammals on earth.

Another problem with microwave is that carcinogenic toxins leak out of your plastic and paper containers, and into your food. The worst contaminants is BPA, an estrogen-like compound commonly used in plastic products. Dishes made specifically for the microwave often contain BPA, but many other plastic products contain it as well.

If you put something with nutrients in your microwave chances are, it's going to come out as a carcinogenic. Sounds delicious, right?

Microwaving Food Results In:

Tumors in the stomach or intestine (explanation for the increased rate of colon cancer in America)

Increased cholesterol levels

Increase in cancerous cells in human blood

Decreased number of red and white blood cells

Dramatic decrease of nutrients in your food

Loss of hormone production

Memory loss

Do your health a favor: Get rid of your microwave, or donate it to charity. You can't use something you don't have! You'll have a little more counter space, save on electricity, and better your health.
